Service Agreement Terms

The following terms apply to all clients booking wedding officiant services from Weddings by Joe.

Scope of Services

Weddings by Joe agrees to provide wedding officiant services as detailed in the specific ceremony package selected by the client ("the couple"). Services include pre-ceremony consultations, ceremony script preparation, rehearsal coordination (if applicable), and the legal solemnization of the marriage on the agreed-upon date and time.

Booking, Payment, and Cancellation Policy

• Booking: A signed service agreement and a non-refundable deposit are required to secure a date and time.
• Final Payment: The remaining balance is due on or before the day of the wedding ceremony, prior to the start of the ceremony.
• Cancellation by Couple: If the couple cancels the event, any deposits paid are non-refundable. If cancellation occurs within 14 days of the scheduled event, 50% of the full fee, minus the depoit fee, will be due.
• Rescheduling: We will make a reasonable effort to accommodate a rescheduled date, subject to availability. Additional fees may apply.

Couple's Responsibilities

The couple is solely responsible for obtaining a valid marriage license from the appropriate jurisdiction (e.g., County Clerk's office) and ensuring it is presented to the officiant prior to the ceremony. The officiant cannot legally perform the ceremony without the physical marriage license present. The couple is also responsible for providing accurate information for the ceremony details, including names, dates, and venue location.

Promotional Use of Media

The couple grants Weddings by Joe a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use photos, videos, and written reviews/testimonials from the wedding for promotional and marketing purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, use on our website (weddingsbyjoe.com), social media platforms, brochures, and other advertising materials. Weddings by Joe agrees to use all media in a professional and respectful manner. The couple's last names will not be used without explicit permission.

Limitation of Liability

In the unlikely event that the officiant is unable to perform the ceremony due to unforeseen circumstances, such as a medical emergency or act of God, Weddings by Joe will make every reasonable effort to find a suitable, qualified replacement officiant. If a replacement cannot be found, the total liability of Weddings by Joe will be limited to the refund of all fees paid by the couple.

Governing Law

This agreement shall be governed in all respects by the laws of the State of Indiana, and the parties agree that any disputes will be adjudicated in the courts of Jefferson County, Indiana.
